Research In Motion (RIM) has officially released the BlackBerry Curve 8520 for T-Mobile network. Dubbed as the BlackBerry Gemini, the smartphone features a 2-megapixel camera with video recording, a 320 x 240 resolution display, a multimedia player, WiFi, and a 1150mAh battery. The Curve 8520 also supports “out of the box Mac compatibility,” which basically means users can sync contacts, notes and calendars via the BlackBerry Desktop Software on Apple’s computers.
While not widely acknowledged, introduction of Apple iPhone seems to have sent a shockwave throughout cellphone industry and left major vendors scrambling to produce their own answer to it.
Only LG seems to have had something at least a little bit similar to iPhone with their LG Prada KE850 phone. Other vendors were left churning out the concept phones on YouTube.
And here’s another Asus concept phone – Asus Aura, produced by Hungarian design company Egy Studio for Taiwanese vendor. It was clearly inspired by iPhone, although it has some interesting innovations...

The Telus HTC Touch Pro2 is now available at Best Buy for CAD$249.99 (US$230). In case you didn’t know, the smartphone features a sliding QWERTY keyboard, a 3.2MP shooter with auto-focus, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, a microSD (HC) card slot, an FM radio with RDS and a 528Mhz Qualcomm CPU. You can also get the speakerphone system called “HTC Straight Talk” for conference calls.
Here’s a concept luxury handset that will probably sell tons if it ever materializes. The BYB Balance cellphone features a slider mechanism that protects the two touchscreen displays when closed. You can flip it over and use the slider to turn the BYB Balance cellphone into a clock or a digital photo frame. Features include a 5.1 megapixel camera with auto focus and 2x optical zoom, 3G/HSDPA connectivity, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, and a GPS navigation system. A little more than three months back, BenQ Siemens showcased its Black Box concept phone to signify its presence in the cellphone industry. Black Box was indeed impressive with its control layout that could change according to the functions we use. But, the latest concept phone from their side is gonna woo you with its astounding make.
While we are short on details on the particular cellular phone, I am just thinking of how to operate this snaky phone. The concept phone looks like a snake and you can wrap it around your wrist.

Palm launched the new update for its WebOS platform. The Palm webOS 1.1 re-enables Palm media sync, so you will have seamless access to your music, photos and videos from the current version of iTunes (8.2.1). Nokia announced the Nokia 6760 slide, a messaging optimized device with a sliding QWERTY keypad. Expansys has confirmed the specs of Sony Ericsson XPERIA X3. Dubbed as the Rachel, the company’s first Android-based smartphone features a 4-inch display with 800×400 resolution, a microSDHC card slot, a mini-USB port, and a 3.5mm headphone socket.
